Frequently Asked Questions
+ How long do the tours last?
Typically between 40-45 minutes.
+ How much does the tour cost?
$11 even. What a deal!
+ How many people can join my tour group?
You can book up to 20 general admission slots online for your group if there is open availability at the tour time you would like to book, or you can book a private tour to reserve up to the max 30 slots.
+ How do I book a private tour?
We only offer private tours on the half hour (e.g., 1:30, 2:30 etc.) and to book one, you simply need to select which day and tour time you’re interested in from our reservation portal on the tours page, select 'private tour' from the pop-up menu, and then you will be directed to the payment portal to secure your reservation.
+ What is included in the private tour?
A private tour will consist of your tour group of up to 30 people taking an intimate tour from one of our tour guides. This will include a walk through our company’s history and legacy, an in depth look at our production facility, and a tasting of our products at the tasting bar, all of which will be closed to the public and reserved just for you!

Private tours are $15 per person with a $250 minimum Monday-Thursday, and a $400 minimum Friday-Sunday.
+ My child is underage, can we still do the tour?
Yes! We allow all ages to participate in the tour, if your child is between the ages of 12-20 the tour will be half price an we will have to place and ‘X’ on their hand. If they are less than 12, the tour is free!
+ Do you offer a military discount?
Yes, with a valid military ID we offer half off your tour price. If you made a reservation online and show us your ID upon arrival, we can refund you the half off at that time.
+ Do I need an ID to be able to participate in the tasting?
Yes, Tennessee law requires that we perform universal I.D. checks across the board, no matter how old you are. In order to drink on the tasting you must have a valid, unexpired driver’s license, passport, or alternative, government issued, valid photo ID. If you don’t have an ID, you may still take the tour but will not be permitted to participate in the tasting.
+ Is there anywhere to park near the distillery?
Yes, there is plenty of street parking all around the building as well as a gravel parking lot directly across the street from Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery. Just keep an eye out for “No Parking” signs along the street where the buses stop!
+ Can I purchase product from you directly online/can you ship whiskey directly to me?
No, under our current laws we are not permitted to ship to your doorstep. Your state may allow direct shipment from a licensed online retailer but in order to purchase directly from us, you will need to visit the distillery in person. + You don’t distribute to my state yet, what gives?!
