Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery Exclusives are unique whiskeys showcasing creative, exceptional expressions of whiskey. These releases are produced in extremely limited quantities, and are only available at our distillery in Nashville, Tennessee.

These expressions are released and revealed one at a time throughout the year, each with its own release date. These special releases are available, while supplies last, at our Distillery Mercantile and occasionally make their way to retailers.

The Nelson Brothers brand of spirits pays tribute to Andy and Charlie Nelson who, in 2006, revived the distillery founded by their great-great-great grandparents after it was lost to Prohibition in 1909. This straight bourbon whiskey, selected by Fred Minnick, was expertly distilled and aged in a single American oak barrel for nine years before being bottled at cask strength at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee.

This special expression of Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey recreates our founder Charles Nelson’s recipe, first released to the public in 1860. It is made with corn, wheat and malted barley and mellowed through a bed of sugar maple charcoal. This Tennessee Whiskey was crafted in a single distilling season at Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery in Nashville, Tennessee and aged for six years, adhering to the standards laid out by the Bottled in Bond Act of 1897.

The “Bottled In Bond” designation was originally intended to guarantee the quality and authenticity of whiskey, ensuring consumers knew they were getting a product that met certain standards. Today, bottled in bond whiskeys are often seen as a mark of quality and tradition, though they are less common than other types of whiskey due to the strict requirements they must meet. We invite you to raise a glass and enjoy this whiskey that's as rich in history as it is in flavor.

We've once again partnered with our good friends at TruBee Honey Farm in Arrington, TN, who have artfully filled empty Nelson Brothers Bourbon barrels with local wildflower honey, resulting in a delightful Barrel-Aged Honey with a flavor profile that simply cannot be replicated or surpassed. Once the TruBee process is complete, we return the honey barrels to our distillery and fill them with our Nelson Brothers Bourbon to finish for an additional 6-8 months.

The result is a new arrangement of one of Nelson's Green Brier Distillery's most celebrated bouquets: Nelson Brothers Honey Cask Finish.
