Louisa's Old Fashioned

2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
1/2 oz Louisa's Liqueur
1/4 oz Demerara Syrup*
1 dash Aromatic Bitters

Glass: Double Rocks
Ice: Cube or sphere
Garnish: Orange peel expressed and inserted.

This is a very simple twist on the classic recipe for one of the worlds most iconic whiskey cocktails. Place all ingredients into a mixing glass with ice. Stir briefly. Strain into a double rocks glass over ice and then express orange zest over the drink and insert the orange peel as the garnish.

*Demerara Syrup, 2:1 Demerara or Turbinado sugar to water. Stir over low heat until crystals are all dissolved. Let cool and refrigerate. Shelf life 2 weeks.
