Belle Meade Bourbon is for Lovers: 5 Valentine Cocktails

No matter what you're planning for Valentine's Day, bourbon tends to make everything better. To help you out, we've put together a list of some of our favorite bourbon cocktails to make your day.

Bourbon Belle Old Fashioned
2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
1/4 oz Maple Syrup
1 dash Angostura Bitters
1 dash Peychaud’s Bitters
Technique: stir and strain. Glass: rocks. Ice: cube/sphere. Garnish: orange twist expressed over drink and inserted.
Pour all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir briefly. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish and enjoy.
Uncle Bob
1 1/2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
3/4 oz Cocchi Torino
3/4 oz Zucca
3/4 oz Apry
Technique: stir and strain. Glass: chilled cocktail. Ice: none. Garnish: lemon twist expressed over drink and inserted.
Pour all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir briefly. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish and enjoy.

2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
3/4 oz Ginger Liqueur
3/4 oz Lemon juice
3/4 oz Simple Syrup* (1 oz if you’re using a light Ginger Liqueur)
1 dash Regan’s Orange Bitters
1 Egg White
Technique: shake and strain. Glass: chilled cocktail. Ice: none. Garnish: five drops of Scrappy’s Cardamom Bitters.
Put egg white and lemon in a shaker and shake the two indigents without ice. Add the rest of the ingredients along with ice and shake very hard for 10-15 seconds. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass and garnish with bitters on top of the frothy head of the drink.

2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
1/4 oz Drambuie
1/4 oz Demerara Syrup**
2 dashes Angostura Bitters
Technique: stir and strain. Glass: rocks. Ice: cube/sphere. Garnish: lemon twist expressed over drink and inserted.
Pour all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice and stir briefly. Strain into a rocks glass over ice. Garnish and enjoy.
Blink Bonny
2 oz Belle Meade Bourbon
1/2 oz Campari
¼ oz Crème de Cacao (light or dark)
1 oz Ruby Red Grapefruit juice
3/4 oz lemon juice
3/4 oz Simple Syrup
Rinse: Scrappy’s Chocolate Bitters. Technique: shake and strain. Glass: chilled cocktail. Ice: none. Garnish: lemon twist, not expressed over drink.
First shoot several dashes of chocolate bitters into a chilled cocktail glass and roll the bitters around making sure that the coat the interior of the glass all the way to the rim. Next, add all ingredients to a shaker and shake briefly with ice. Then strain into the rinsed glass filling it to ¾ full. Garnish and enjoy.
*Simple Syrup: Stir equal parts white sugar and water until all crystals are dissolved.
**Demerara Syrup: In a sauce pan over low heat combine 2 parts Demerara (or Turbinado) sugar and one part water. Stir until all sugar crystals are dissolved then allow to cool to room temp. Store in refrigerator.
