#8 CHRISTMAS IN JULY RYE
Tap date: Friday 7/04/25
$99.99
We teamed up with our friends at Fat Bottom Brewing to bring you holiday cheer...in the heat of summer. They brewed a spiced Christmas ale with honey, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves, aged it in our barrels, and then sent those festive casks back our way. We filled one with Nelson Brothers Rye and gave it an extra touch of vanilla for good measure. After six months, it emerged tasting like chai, spruce tips, and chocolate-covered cherries. Think gingerbread, coffee cake, and citrus wrapped up in a rye whiskey sweater.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: vanilla bean ice cream, chai spice, spruce
Palate: chicory, bright citrus, coffee cake
Finish: gingerbread, amber ale, chocolate covered cherries

#7 RUBY PORT OF CALL
Tap date: Friday 7/04/25
$99.99
This limited release of Nelson Brothers Reserve was finished in a ruby port barrel, bringing deep, jammy character to an already rich bourbon. Though the secondary aging was brief, the influence is anything but subtle. The nose opens with notes of black licorice, citrus peel, and raisin. On the palate, you’ll find layered flavors of plum tea, cherry cola, and blackberry jam. A dessert-like finish of baking chocolate, fig cookie, and port wine rounds it out—lush, fruit-forward, and built for slow sipping.

#5 Smoke ‘Em If You Got ‘Em
$99.99
Tap date: Thursday 5/08/25
Whiskey, coffee and fire; a trio that makes the production team at Nelson’s Green Brier immensely happy. And when the finished product tastes as good as this BYOB barrel #5, you too can get in on this happiness.
Our friends at very popular Nashville coffee company, 8th & Roast, age their coffee beans in our bourbon barrels. We snagged a barrel back from them and did a low and cold smoke on it: five hours at 180 degrees. We pressurized the barrel so smoke could stay in and not come out.
Then we took Nelson Brothers Bourbon, aged an average of 6 years, and let it soak in smoky barrel goodness for seven days. To finish it off, we did a brief flash infusion of coffee beans and vanilla to round out the flavors. If you wanted to call it a breakfast bourbon, who are we to judge?

#4 Rock Corn
$99.99
Tap date: Monday 3/25/25
If you’re a fan of our Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey (and who isn’t?), then this barrel is for you. Our ‘Rock Corn Tennessee Whiskey’ is the same mash bill as our OG version and subs out white corn for yellow corn. Why? Well, because about eight years ago, we really needed to cook and ran out of corn.
When our supplier told us they only had white corn, we remembered an old newspaper ad showing a similar whiskey sold by our original founders, Charles and Louisa Nelson, in the 1800s. So, we set out to recreate our pre-prohibition ‘rock corn’ recipe.
This expression has a more pronounced corn flavor and an earthiness that makes it distinctly its own.
TASTING NOTES
Nose: Husk, Funnel Cake, Lemongrass
Palate: Sweet Cornbread, Barnwood, Butter Cookie
Finish: Candy Corn, Granite, Sweet Grass

#3 Barley's Angels
$99.99
Tap date: Monday 2/17/25
Who knew that a little idea we had 2.5 years ago would turn into something so perfectly timed with malt having its big moment? For this one, we teamed up with Barrique Brewing—a killer spot just across the river from Germantown, where they age almost every beer in barrels. Back in December 2022, we handed over a barrel that had already done its job aging Nelson Brothers Classic Bourbon. Barrique took it from there, aging their bold barleywine in it for over a year to create "Static Between Worlds." Then, we grabbed the barrel back, tossed in our full-proof Classic Bourbon, and let it soak up all that barleywine magic for another year. The result? A whiskey loaded with rich flavors like toasted caramel, raisin, and cacao nibs—basically dessert in a glass.
This whole experiment is the brainchild of our lead blender, Spencer Thompson, who also happens to be a regular at Barrique for post-work hangs with owner Joel Stickrod and head brewer Spencer Longhurst. With a crew like that, you can bet the creativity was flowing right alongside the beer. And hey, who’s to say there aren’t a few more surprise barrels in our warehouses? Stay tuned - things are just getting interesting.

#2 Apple of My Eye
$99.99
Tap date: Monday 1/13/25
They say it’s never a good idea to date your neighbor, but our lead blender, Spencer, didn’t listen. Spencer took his dad on a birthday trip to Reece’s Cider Company in neighboring Georgia and unexpectedly left with a new love; their dry cider. As it tends to go, Spencer and the folks at Reece’s got to talking and one thing led to a yearlong relationship. We gifted them two of our Nelson Brothers Rye barrels and they aged their dry cider in it for nearly 10 months. We wanted to share in the love, so we put our reserve bourbon into one of those barrels and aged it another 3 months. Now we want to share our “Apple of My Eye” Cider Cask Finished Bourbon with you and your sweetheart. What ever became of that second barrel? We don’t fill and tell.

Some of life’s greatest whiskey achievements happen by circumstance. This liquid was originally produced and barreled in 2015. That barrel was dropped in 2018 while being moved. The barrel was cracked beyond repair, so the spirit was transferred to a new charred oak barrel creating a beautifully rich and one-of-a-kind spirit.
