Tennessee Whiskey Hot Toddy

The perfect antidote to a chilly evening, the classic hot toddy is made even better with Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey and spiced brown sugar. Echoing the cinnamon flavors of the whiskey, the brown sugar simple syrup is easy to make. Enjoy this warming beverage all winter long.

2 oz TN Whiskey
.5 oz lemon juice
.5 oz spiced brown sugar simple syrup
2 dashes aromatic bitters

Combine all ingredients in an Irish Coffee mug and stir to combine. Fill the mug with hot water and stir again briefly. Garnish with a clove studded lemon peel.

To make the brown sugar syrup, combine one cup brown sugar with one cup water and one tablespoon of ground cinnamon in a saucepan. Bring to a simmer and stir until the sugar is dissolved. Line a fine strainer with cheesecloth or damp paper towel to strain the cinnamon. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
