Brothers’ Bramble

Brothers’ Bramble

This bright and citrusy take on a traditional bramble features Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey and a house made blackberry simple syrup. Fruity and refreshing, this drink can be enjoyed year-round, but is outstanding with summer’s ripe blackberries.

Creator: Rachel Ramirez

2 oz TN Whiskey
1 oz blackberry simple
.5 oz orange juice
.5 oz lemon juice
1 dash orange bitters

Combine all ingredients to a cocktail shaker filled with ice. Shake until chilled and strain into a rocks glass over fresh ice. Express the oils from an orange peel over the top of the drink and insert peel into drink.

To make the blackberry simple, mash six ounces of blackberries in the bottom of a saucepan. Add one cup of sugar and one cup of water and stir to combine. Heat to a simmer, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. Let the blackberries rest in the syrup as it cools and then strain through a fine strainer. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container.
