Eight Maids A Milking
This clarified whiskey milk punch is part of our 12 Days of Christmas Cocktails Series at the Nelson’s Green Brier Distillery Cocktail Bar. Visit the Distillery Cocktail Bar Thursday-Sunday through December 23 to see which of the 12 special cocktails are available.
(Serves 2. Scale up for larger batches)
4 oz Nelson’s Green Brier Tennessee Whiskey
.5 oz allspice dram
4 oz blood orange juice
1 oz lime juice
1 oz simple syrup
2 dashes tiki bitters
1 cinnamon stick (broken into small pieces)
6 allspice berries
4 oz milk
Combine all ingredients except milk in a glass vessel. Pour the punch into 4 oz of milk. Allow the mixture to sit for at least 30 minutes and up to overnight in the refrigerator. Line a fine strainer with cheesecloth or a coffee filter and strain the punch, collecting all the milk solids. Strain again through the same filter and the collected milk solids (this will take a while…). Strain a third time if desired. To serve, pour punch over ice and garnish with an orange wheel or a cinnamon stick.
