Tennessean: Why Tennessee whiskey needs global trade (Charlie Nelson)

"Our business has grown significantly since my brother and I started this adventure 10 years ago, and we’ve created 33 (and growing) good, local jobs in Nashville. International trade and access to foreign markets is one of the best ways to continue to grow our small business and continue to create additional jobs.

The timing is particularly good, as there is growing interest and excitement in many foreign markets about American whiskeys.

We are currently looking at expanding into markets such as Australia and Vietnam, where American whiskeys are booming and products such as ours would be very popular. Our business would benefit greatly from new, enhanced access to foreign markets — and expanding that access is not only good for the country as a whole, it has a direct and significant impact right here in Tennessee."
